"The Scream" Edvard Munch 1893, Painting, Oslo, Norway, The National Museum

I selected "The Scream" because it captures the feeling of being overwhelmed by emotions that seem impossible to contain. The distorted figure, swirling sky, and expressive lines create a world where the environment itself seems to reflect the figure’s inner distress. To me, the work represents the moment when internal struggle becomes so intense that it can no longer remain hidden. I want viewers to consider how many people experience fear, anxiety, or sadness without knowing how to communicate what they are feeling. By including this work, I hope to show that personal battles are often invisible until they demand to be acknowledged.
