"Henry Ford Hospital" Frida Kahlo 1932, Painting, Dolores Olmedo Museum, Mexico City, Mexico

When I came across "Henry Ford Hospital", it showed how art can give form to experiences that are deeply personal and difficult to share. Kahlo portrays herself alone on a hospital bed, surrounded by objects connected to her experience of miscarriage and loss. I see this work as an example of reclaiming one’s voice through art, allowing painful experiences to be acknowledged rather than hidden. I hope viewers will consider how expressing grief can be an important part of processing pain, even when the experience itself can't be undone.
